چکیده

A clinical evaluation of a new electron ProTon tonometer was performed comparing the values of intraocular pressure (IOP) measured using this instrument with those determined by a similar instrument, Tono-Pen XL, and by Goldmann applanation tonometry. The mean IOP measured in 106 eyes with the ProTon tonometer was not significantly different from that determined with Goldmann applanation, while the IOP values measured with Tono-Pen XL were significantly lower. The 95% limits of agreement between applanation tonometry and ProTon tonometry were between -4 mm Hg and 5 mm Hg and between applanation tonometry and Tono-Pen XL tonometry between -3 mm Hg and 8 mm Hg. The ProTon tonometer appears to have a higher level of accuracy than the Tono-Pen XL tonometer in clinical practice.

Comparison of three methods of tonometry in normal subjects: Goldmann applanation tonometer, non-contact airpuff tonometer, and Tono-Pen XL

OBJECTIVE WE AIMED TO COMPARE INTRAOCULAR PRESSURE (IOP) MEASUREMENTS VIA THREE DIFFERENT TONOMETERS: the Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT), the Tono-Pen(®) XL (TPXL), and a non-contact airpuff tonometer (NCT). METHODS This was a cross-sectional study of 200 eyes from 200 patients. Right eyes of all patients were included in this study. IOP was measured via GAT, NCT, and TPXL by three phys...

Intraocular pressure measurement after penetrating keratoplasty: minified Goldmann applanation tonometer, pneumatonometer, and Tono-Pen versus manometry.

The accuracy of intraocular pressure measurement with the minified Goldmann applanation tonometer, the pneumatonometer, and the Tono-Pen tonometer were compared in post-mortem human eyes which had undergone penetrating keratoplasty. Enucleated post-mortem human eyes underwent same sized (7.75 mm) or 0.5 mm oversized (8.25 mm) autologous penetrating keratoplasty. Intraocular pressure was then se...

Comparison of Perkins, Tono-Pen and Schiøtz tonometers in paediatric patients under general anaesthesia.

This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate if the Tono-Pen, Schiøtz and Perkins tonometers could be used interchangeably in general practice for measuring elevated intraocular pressure. A total of 74 eyes of 37 paediatric patients under general anaesthesia were checked with all 3 tonometers. All of the tonometers gave significantly different measurements from each other. However, with a me...

Effect of corneal thickness on intraocular pressure measurements with the pneumotonometer, Goldmann applanation tonometer, and Tono-Pen.

PURPOSE To compare intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements of the Ocular Blood Flow (OBF) pneumotonometer, Goldmann applanation tonometer, and Tono-Pen in eyes with normal corneas of various thicknesses. METHODS IOP was measured with an OBF pneumotonometer, Tono-Pen and Goldmann applanation tonometer in random order in 181 eyes with normal corneas. Central corneal thickness (CCT) was measured...

Tono-Pen tonometry in normal and in post-keratoplasty eyes.

Oculab Tono-Pen tonometry was compared with Goldmann applanation tonometry in 82 eyes of 82 patients with normal corneas and in 54 eyes of 54 patients who had undergone penetrating keratoplasty and whose corneas did not preclude the use of Goldmann tonometer. We found that the intraocular pressure (IOP) in 48% of the eyes with normal corneas and in 57% after keratoplasty has different measureme...
